The Art of Relating

Discover the art of building meaningful connections!

The Art of Relating workshop empowers individuals to enhance their communication skills, build harmonious relationships, and adapt their approach to effectively connect with diverse styles and learning preferences.

AOR-1: INTERPERSONAL STYLES

AOR-1:
INTERPERSONAL STYLES

This workshop begins by demonstrating that people communicate from four basic styles, or a combination of them. The individual who continues to be comfortable only with people of a similar style could be said to be limiting their effectiveness with three-quarters of the rest of the world!

Participants learn first their personal, default style, which is how they naturally express themselves. Then they get to see how other people who have a different style communicate and relate quite differently from them.

Through several rounds of fun-filled exercises, participants get feedback on how they are doing and coaching on how they can shift their communications style to be more effective with people of other styles.

At the organisational level, this workshop can result in people being more able and willing to work together in harmony.

AOR-2: LISTENING SKILLS

Active listening is vital for effective communication and interaction within the organisation. The business world has become so complex and volatile that the demands for our attention come from all directions. The resulting noise can lead to miscommunication, especially when things are moving fast.

At every level, individuals skilled in active listening will engage more effectively with people and have a natural advantage that moves them forward faster in the organisation. When managers are trained in listening skills, the authenticity they introduce into their conversations creates a safe space for their team to collaborate closely in an open manner.

AOR-3: LEARNING MODALITIES

AOR-3:
LEARNING MODALITIES

This workshop demonstrates how people learn and process information through 3 different channels — the visual, the auditory and the kinesthetic — and how many people have a preference for one modality over the others.

Participants learn how to detect the preferred learning style of another and how shifting their communications to address that preference can have them be more effective with people.

When called upon to communicate or give a presentation, participants will be able to ensure that they address the different modalities so that the members of the audience can all feel that the communication or presentation is addressing them directly.
